Introduction:

My name is Sreyan Goswami. I joined Abhyaz as a Civil Engineering Intern (Remote) and completed a one-month student internship from May 2023 to June 2023.

Embarking on my engineering internship at Abhyaz has been an exhilarating and transformative experience. As a passionate engineering student, I was eager to apply my theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, and Abhyaz provided me with the perfect platform to do so. Over the course of my internship, I have not only honed my technical skills but also gained invaluable professional insights and personal growth. In this blog, I would like to share the highlights of my journey as an engineering intern at Abhyaz.

About Abhyaz Internship:

The work environment at Abhyaz was not just professional but also supportive and inclusive. It has provided real time office experience by virtual means. It has provided numerous courses to learn, software to explore and many more. My peers and team members have been very collaborative and supportive, by giving me insights, suggestions, and feedback on my work. I would like to thank Mam Jayanthi, our mentor, for supporting me and Mam Harsha for being with us in case of any problems faced during the internship. I got an opportunity to work on SOPs, task modules, e-learning courses and workshops.

Hands-On Experience:

My internship at Abhyaz allowed me to apply the theoretical concepts I had learned in the classroom to practical situations. I have worked on various software of Hydraulic Circuits and Plant Design from CNCTrain. The tasks that I have done and enjoyed to complete are:

  1. Learning various tools for Hydraulic Circuits and learning the theory behind it.

  2. Plant designing methods.

  3. Created questions for various courses.

  4. Submitted an SOP on Computer Programming Lab.

Tools/Softwares I have used

1. CodeBlocks

CodeBlocks is a C/C++ IDE. This software is absolutely open-source and I have used it for writing and compiling a C program for my SOP work. It can be used for Windows, Linux and MacOS.

2. Tecnomatix

  1. Tecnomatix is a software owned by Siemens. It helps to model, simulate and optimize a comprehensive digital twin of manufacturing processes and to improve the performance of a business. I have used this for a number of plant designing works like :

I. Plant Layout Design - The software helps to design a plant layout by considering different user-defined parameters.

II. Cost estimation - Estimating cost of running a plant using Tecnomatix.

3. MATLAB

MATLAB is a programming and numeric computing platform used by millions of engineers and scientists to analyse data, develop algorithms, and create models. It is used in many fields including deep learning and machine learning, signal processing and communications, image and video processing, control systems, test and measurement, computational finance, and computational biology. I have used this for making PLC circuits and programming it. I have used to mechatronics programming too.

My Learnings and Works in this Internship

I have learnt a lot from this internship. Being my first month-long internship, I have learnt about how virtual workplaces operate, working efficiently to meet the deadlines, etc. The works that I have completed during my internship are -

  1. 10 e-learning courses.

  2. 1 workshop course.

  3. 1 module task on Computer Programming Lab

  4. Worked on a SOP of Assembly Station Commands.

Conclusion

My engineering internship experience at Abhyaz has been nothing short of extraordinary. From working on projects to benefiting from a supportive work environment and expanding my professional network, I have grown both as an engineer and an individual. The hands-on experience, technical skills, and personal development I gained during my time at Abhyaz will undoubtedly serve as a solid foundation for my future career aspirations. I am immensely grateful to Abhyaz for providing me with this invaluable opportunity and for fueling my passion for engineering.

Thanks to Mentors and Colleagues

I would like to thank my mentors Jayanthi Mam, Harsha Mam, Dinesh Sir for helping me for my entire internship and all other mentors for giving me such a wonderful opportunity. I would also like to thank my fellow interns for being with me all the terms of my internship.

Signing off,

Thank you.
