By God’s grace started an internship as System Admin at Abhyaz from MTAB technology center. As number of departments are there, it is best to work collectively with different teams. Moreover, working remotely with employees or interns from different regions is best too. Timming of working hours makes work life balance. Webinars conducted at Abhyaz also provides knowledge related to different topics along with the tasks provided by mentors. Mentors provides time to explore internship period at best, competition like Star intern of the month was also conducted here.
Work Environment:
In the beginning mentors gave some module to know how the internship is work at Abhyaz. Those modules also contained the submissions of older interns to have knowledge about the tasks we are going to work on. Tasks are called issues at Github (a platform for managing and storing code or repositories), through which mentor allocate tasks. It’s told to comment on opened issue at github as a progress of the task. Some of the tasks were related to manage storage space of the platform used here called moodle (Learning Management System handled by educators containing courses with content for learners). For managing its storage space, backups of the required moodle courses were taken and uploaded those backups on Zoho workdrive (Content collaboration platform designed for teams to manage, store, share and work together on files). Later required courses were deleted from the Abhyaz’s moodle platform.
Tools used:
Moodle (Learning Management System handled by educators containing courses with content for learners) used for managing courses having content related to different fields as per department. Github (a platform for managing and storing code or repositories), through which mentor allocate tasks and progress was updated there in some assigned issues. Zoho workdrive (Content collaboration platform designed for teams to manage, store, share and work together on files) used to keep backups of moodle courses over their plus sharing file with other team members.
Different Tasks:
Submissions were done including knowledge capture, skill capture (detailed explanation of the task), 1-2 min video plus SOP format’s submissions. Some of the tasks contained creation of several courses or editing of the courses. As a team we worked on those too. Here was one Onboarding course which was helpful, was created working together as a team. There was a task related to zoho platform. It was about various applications of zoho.
Mentor’s support:
Certificates were created in the exit sessions which were delivered to interns by HR team. Overall, work culture is best. One task was related to moodle calendar, which was tested to conduct meeting. Another, experimental task was resolving peer to peer grading under Abhyaz Scholar role by changing some permission levels. At last, Mentor’s are very helpful, helps in resolving issues of the provided tasks.
