Introduction
Greetings everyone. I am Kashish Yadav, an undergraduate student pursuing BSc. Animation. I was a graphic intern for a period of 1 month at Abhyaz. It was a memorable learning experience and I’m eager to share about it with you.
Experience, Soft Skills, And Work Environment
I had an insightful experience working at the virtual internship, where I had a supportive team to work with and mentors to guide me throughout my journey. At Abhyaz, I had worked on multiple tasks with short deadlines, which had helped me improve my time management skills, staying organized and being goal oriented, improved my ability to do multiple tasks manage and to take lead. And most importantly to seek help when needed.
The system of meetings, projecting and explaining our work to peers and not just the mentors to receive live feedback helped me broaden my way of thinking and enhanced my creativity in addition to improving my communication skills and confidence level. This allowed me to explore and experiment with various design styles and techniques. I was constantly challenged to push my creative boundaries, and the guidance and feedback I received from my colleagues were invaluable in my growth as a designer. It had helped me broaden my horizon on multiple levels and built a lot of soft skills which I did not have prior, not just my hard skill, but on a deeper and personal level as well. it was incredibly satisfying to see my designs come to life.
Being remote internship did not hinder in giving me a professional work experience. My time at the company gave me an insightful experience that made me feel as if I were part of the real world at the office. Each day presented a new task, a new opportunity and new challenges which had help me come out of my comfort zone and this as a result truly became an essential experience which will I know will be of use for my future endeavours. I was able to gain more knowledge as I was given task and handle situations which I haven’t dealt with before.
I was given a task on my very first day and did not spend a single day without any task. This was a very happening and lively experience. I had wonderful mentors and team who had made this journey a memorable one. They had always provided me with guidance patiently, gave me new task and responsibilities which helping me improve myself and excel in my task. Having a supportive team and mentors that I did was a blessing.Tools Used And Task
I was assigned to work with Canva to create brochures, video, and posts for various social media platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, and company website. With my technical knowledge about designing principles and this tool’s wide variety of features available to me- including basic animation, transitions, font variety, charts, and various element options- I was able to bring my ideas to life and convey the required information. We had also made infographic and few content writing for post which gave me exposure outside the designing aspects.
Conclusion
My internship experience had been nothing but eventful and insightful. Despite being remote, it provided me with a truly authentic glimpse of the real-world work experience. It had contributed greatly in terms of my professional as well as personal growth, thanks to the healthy work environment. It has been truly a remarkable journey and has been a building block for my future endeavours.
