About me & Abhyaz
This is Aishwarya Sivaraman a Project Management Executive intern from the Project and Product Management department. I joined Abhyaz on 16th September, 2023. I attended the ‘Returnship’ program as I have a work experience of 4 years and had a huge gap of 5 years as I travelled to the US on dependent Visa. After returning to India I joined a couple of internships and placement services but turned out to be either a scam or in vain. I was desperately looking for a virtual platform where they’ ll give a qualitative internship program. That’s when I received an e-mail from Abhyaz stating I got shortlisted for Project Management Internship role. I was spellbound especially after attending their wrap-up session , I was impressed by their mentors being so helpful and available to answer any queries.
Shortlisting and Onboarding:
Their shortlisting involved a submission of personal portfolio and a professional portfolio for peer to peer grading. I was asked to prepare a project management tool or application. I sat and designed a project management CRM template showing the progress of the project sprint-wise and was awaiting for the peer grading to happen. I was thrilled to get into this internship and was completely blown away with their virtual office setup with breakout rooms department wise. The onboarding learning modules that they have created is really helpful to walk through the step by step process to gain knowledge and skill.
My Project Management Internship:
Once I started working in our CRM operations room, I had great mentors like Mr.Chethan Huilgol and Ms.Keerthy Thankan always available to patiently guide us through the process. I learnt a lot of things here. How to work in a cross-functional team. I worked in Project reporting part of the project. I learnt how to set meetings in Zoho Mail/Meet, How to collect the daily Scrum updates, How to create a weekly scrum Presentation in Zoho Show. I learnt how to get inputs from the stakeholders and update in Github. How to check the Project Dashboards in Zoho CRM. I learnt how to conduct a Project Weekly scrum Status meeting with the team and how to report with the metrics. I learnt how to Jot down the Meeting Minutes and arrive at the weekly scrum reporting in the github project template. I learnt how to create an overall project template with Sprints and milestones and add the issues based on the quarterly plan sheet. I learnt how to track the overall project progress in Github and how to crosscheck if the project deliverables are being met on time. I learnt how to carry forward backlogs, what measures to take and how to come up with a resolution to all the blockers of the project.
Impression:
Overall Abhyaz has given me a hands-on training in Project Management. I have successfully learnt the Agile Methodology life cycle of Project Management. I am sure it will be a boost for me to get a job in relevant area. I am grateful to each and every Mentor for being humble and helpful throughout. And last but not the least Sashi Mam will be my inspiration for exhibiting her notions, guidance and being a big support throughout my internship.
