Software Engineering Internship at Abhyaz: A Journey of Growth and Innovation

I’m Moumita Mazumdar, my internship experience was an incredible journey of exploration and growth. Worked on fascinating projects, including a Time and Temperature Mapping system using Node-RED tool and Memory Management Simulation. The internship experience here not only enhanced my technical skills but also provided insights into software development. In this blog, I’ll share the challenges faced, the triumphs achieved,  and the profound lessons learned during this enthralling experience.

As a software engineer intern at Abhyaz, I was entrusted with the responsibility of developing a Temperature and Time Mapping System using Node-RED tool.

Node-RED is an open source visual programming tool designed for IoT (Internet of Things). It provides a flow-based programming approach, enabling users to create applications by connecting pre-built reusable node to perform specific tasks.

This experience helped me in gaining a deeper understanding of its versatile nodes and their seamless interconnections, and skillfully integrated APIs to fetch real-time data for both temperature and time.This project not only enriched my technical expertise but also expanded my knowledge in the realms of data integration and IoT applications.

The second task that was given to me was to develop a memory management simulation using C language.

Through this project I had the opportunity to showcase my coding skills and demonstrate a profound understanding of algorithms. The algorithm that I used was “Best-fit” algorithm, which efficiently allocates the suitable memory block to each process, reflects the commitment to optimizing system performance.

This project has undoubtedly been a pivotal experience, allowing me to further refine my coding skills and strengthen my proficiency in algorithmic design and implementation.

Creating an SOP h5p using Lumi enhanced my presentation and communications skills. I learned to write engaging content and developed an interactive video explaining each slide effectively. It was a transformative experience, boosting my confidence in delivering complex concepts in a simplified manner.

During my time here, I had a fantastic experience working with supportive mentors and co-interns. Their guidance and assistance were invaluable in clearing my doubts and helping me grow. This platform provided ample opportunities for learning and acquiring new skills, ultimately enhancing my knowledge in various domains. I am grateful for this enriching experience and look forward to applying my newfound knowledge in future endeavors.
